I agree that $7 doesn't sound like much, but I also realize that it takes time to build up the power of compounding. Annual increases of 8% will turn into much larger dollar increases years from now.

I don't worry about GIS selling off brands. If they do, it will likely be for strategic reasons that are thought by management to be in the best interests of the company and shareholders. I'm fairly confident in the management at GIS.

Cheers,

DeedubsDividend Growth Machinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13304571550687216360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2800029095243726187.post-57093630136370345892012-06-27T08:31:54.171-04:002012-06-27T08:31:54.171-04:00Deedubs,

I also like boring companies that are steady and dependable, and GIS certainly fits in that category.

Cheers,

DeedubsDividend Growth Machinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13304571550687216360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2800029095243726187.post-49983287203221977362012-06-26T20:39:23.766-04:002012-06-26T20:39:23.766-04:00Deedubs,

It's not a headline stock, but slow and boring...which is right up my alley.

Best wishes!Dividend Mantrahttp://www.dividendmantra.comnoreply@blogger.com
