Milestone: Portfolio Value Reaches $80,000

Today my portfolio's value reached $80,000 for the very first time, closing at $80,069.51. My portfolio continues to hit new highs as the broader market does the same. This milestone comes just two months (!) after reaching $70,000 in January. My secondary investing goal is to achieve a satisfactory total return on my investments, and a steadily increasing portfolio value is an indication of progress toward that goal.

The next milestone is $90,000, which I expect to reach later this year.

I just posted my $100k update today and you're right behind me.

It's really wonderful to grow our wealth together. :)

    Best wishes.

  2. This is great! Congrats on the new highs. I still have miles to go. But recently I was thinking what if I get a bulk money and suddenly meet all my goals. And found out it probably wouldn't be such fun as building your portfolio step by step.

    1. Martin: Thank you! A windfall would be nice, but I agree that it's more fun and motivational to see incremental progress.

  3. Congrats! It's nice to check off some of the milestones along the way. I recently passed $90 myself and will cross $100 either this month with the markets increasing further and new cash or next month.

  5. Nice work DGM! Hitting milestones certainly help reward you for all the hard work and sacrifices you are making to put away money and invest it wisely! Look forward to seeing you track up to 90 and 100k!
